Divya Beeram, the founder of Countervailing Voices, is an international debater with experience in World Schools Debate. Through her work in debate, she witnessed how conversations among youth across different countries often reflected the same polarization seen in broader society.

She started Countervailing Voices because she recognized the need for a platform that could bridge those divides. The project was built on the belief that dialogue should not deepen polarization but instead create opportunities for understanding. By fostering respectful exchange, Countervailing Voices seeks to empower young people to engage across differences and to see disagreement as a path toward connection rather than division.
